Sri Lanka President Gotabaya will resign on Wednesday, the speaker said

There are continuous protests across the country demanding the resignation of the President. The protest ended on Saturday. The protesters entered Rajapaksa’s residence directly. However, the President had left his residence shortly before. Their belongings were seen being carried on naval ships.

Protesters stormed the residence of the President as well as the residence of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. Apart from vandalizing, they set a part of the house on fire.

In such a situation, the President has no option but to resign. A section of political circles thinks so. Speaker Mahinda Yapa said in a statement that he was informed of the resignation by President Gotabai.
